Daily Bulletin
El Segundo Middle School Bulletin for Monday, November 30, 2009
**Winter Ball** The Winter Ball is quickly approaching and I know some of you have already bought your dresses or will be going to buy your dresses. We want to make sure it is very clear that you will be required to abide by the dress code. Look in your binder reminder as it has all the information you need as to what you can wear and what you can't wear. Last year, we had to send two students home and it's not a fun time or a good feeling. Gentlemen, you too, are required to dress appropriately so don't think you're out of the woods. It's a nice event, therefore you should all look the part. If you have any questions about your dress or attire, please see Ms. DeVore and bring a picture if needed.
Robotics Club The Bulldog robotics team went to their first competition on Nov 22nd and returned home with a Team Spirit Award and many great memories and ideas. The team will compete again this weekend at Legoland.
**OSS** OSS fundraiser money and orders are due TOMORROW! Turn orders into your science teacher or to Ms. Beachly. NO late orders will be accepted.
Permission Slips Are Due for the Tiger Woods Golf Tournament Field Trip Please turn in your permission slip for the Tiger Woods Field Trip to Mrs. Klein, counselor as soon as possible.
Students going on the Florida trip Please turn in your See's fundraising money to Mrs. Klein, Counselor ASAP. Thanks.

Make sure to give Miss Berry all money and orders on Wednesday. Additionally, if you sold Christmas Wreaths, they should arrive sometime this week. Lastly, we will have one student meeting before the break. Make sure to listen to the Bulletin for the date!

Week of Sept. 21st 2009
Good morning and happy Monday to all of you!
I have quite a few announcements this morning:
1)We are currently having some issues with our phone system and have not found the reasoning behind it, so please if your student is absent, make sure to call in the day of and speak to either Carol or Susi.
2)We are also having some technical issues with Infosnap and Powerschool. I have received e-mails from various parents stating that they are not receiving my e-mails from school. This won't be rectified until we get the Infosnap issue taken care of, so please, if you know anyone who is not receiving my e-mails, pass them on.
3)Pick up and drop off of students continues to get better! Please just remember to continue to pull forward all the way to the top of the white curb. No pick up or drop off in the parking lot. Mr. Plotkin and I will make every effort to be out there in the morning and afternoon to assist, but there will be times we won't be able to make it, so we're trying to get the good habits going now!
4) Dropping off items at school: Please note that we will not call students out of class or disrupt class for students who forget items at home. Please remind your students that if they forget something to check in the office at the round table. We will also note this in our daily bulletin so students are aware as well.
5) Important dates:
***Oct 1st is Back to School Nite beginning at 6 p.m. There will be a meeting for all 7th grade parents and new 8th grade parents at 5 p.m in Bulldog Hall related to transition to high school and discussing exit exam among other items. Oct 1st IS a minimum day! Students will be released at 1:40 p.m.
***Oct. 7th is Picture Day
***October 12th is progress reports. Only students with F's or D's, maybe C-'s will receive a progress report home to be signed by parent. Remember, you can check grades regularly on Powerschool.
Wow..that was a long one! Have a great week everyone and we'll see you soon!
